The Central Plateau: Haiti’s Central Plateau lies between two mountain ranges, the Massif du Nord (600-1100 m, 2000-3600 ft high) and the Montagnes Noires (600 m high).This was an area that vodoo drums were heard through out the nights, but today gospel hymns can be heard. Sound travels from the mountians over the plains. There is a place on the side of the mountians that is called the prayer and fasting place. At 6:00AM the women meet and sing and pray. They can be heard for miles. This is a result of a pastor named JeanJean who went to a voodoo service and just read John 3:16 prayed and left. The witch doctors left also. JeanJean missions group UCI United Christian International maitains three nutrition centers where they feed about 140 children. There are plans to start two more centers this year for a total of 200 children. Jr is one of those kids he is twelve years old but is about the size of a 6 or 7 year old. If it wasn't for the centers he would not be here today.
